gapanthus is a word derived from the Greek ‘agape’, meaning love, and ‘anthos’, meaning flower. Agapanthus, which is more commonly known as The African Lily is native to South Africa and came to Europe in the early 17th century. Its pompom shaped flowers which open as multiple tubular flowers stand elegantly above green and yellow striped leaves bringing a splash of colour to your garden from midsummer. Agapanthus ‘Goldstrike’ provides an impressive display when planted in your garden as part of a group, amongst other border perennials, or alternatively as a feature plant on your patio. |
